Weekend Project: Recycled Cardboard Brag Book

Project: Recycled Cardboard Brag Book

I have a cool project to share with you today! I hope this post inspires you to make some recycled brag books. So go grab some cardboard and lets get started.

Here are the materials I used:

Scrapbooking  Paper
Cardboard ( I used the cardboard dividers in boxes from Sam’s Wholesale)
Paint (optional)
Glue Stick or Double Stick Tape
Rubber stamps
Paper Cutter
Hole Puncher

I have started by cutting my cardboard, there is no special sizes. It really all depends on what you want to place on the pages.

Now I ‘ve cut my printed scraping paper according to the size of my cardboard.

I used a brown paper bag and a roll of receipt paper to make the journal memo sheets. I stamped several images on both, the brown paper bag and  the receipt paper.

You can design these pages according to what you like.  I personally  like using rubber stamps for images and then adding different embellishments.

Here are some of my finished  recycled brag pages….. That’s basicly it!

Quick and Easy tea dyed tags

Today’s Project: Quick and Easy Tea Dyed Tags

I used a tall plastic bowl,I placed 5 tea bags in the bowl and pour a ½ gallon of HOT boiling water on top of the tea bags.

I place my card stock tags into the bowl. For Tags: I just cut strips of card stock paper and I also cut out basic tags with my circuit machine.

Let the card stock soak for at lease 45 min, I placed them on a tray lined with paper towels. Then, I laid them outside in the sun.

Once the tags or cardstock pieces dry you can decorate them. I use ribbon, scrap pieces of paper, glitter, rubber stamps, paint and more...

(I also dyed ribbon and lace pieces in this batch along with the card stock tags.)

Just be creative!

Looking pretty GOOD! Pre-made crumpled flowers.

Paper flowers in action! I made this book last week here are examples of how I use my crumpled paper flowers. Hope this inspires you to make some paper flowers of your own.  I store these pre-made flowers in a plastic shoe container. ( Keeps them nice and fresh! )

Anyone want to start a project together?  It’s fun when you have someone some where else doing the same thing.  Maybe I’ll post a new project we all can join in on and share with each other.  Just leave a comment.

Crumpled Flowers for Scrapbooking

Here is a video that helped me understand how to make crumpled flowers…. I use paper flowers all the time in my projects.  It beats buying them and most of the time they are just as pretty. But when I do make crumpled flowers I mostly use old book pages and wrapping paper to create many of  flowers. Check them out!

Easy Altered Clothespins

Altered Clothespins

Just wanted to share the new project I’ve started working on… You might have already seen these decorative clothespins but just never thought about using them in your project.  Well, I would say to anyone USE THEM!!  They are soooo inexpensive and easy to make.
I think about $1.00 for 50 wood clothespins. ( @ Family Dollar Store )

I use them in my altered book projects, on scrapbook pages and also as bookmakers. I hope you like them.
